Leadership, Storytelling, Ministry:
Creating Lasting Impact
About
I’m David. After decades as a spiritual leader, strategist, and storyteller, I believe that every ministry, mission, and community has a story worth sharing. With 30 years of experience as an ordained priest and a background in fundraising, strategic planning, and communications, I now focus my time and energy on helping others grow their missions.
But it’s not just about strategy—it’s about transformation. Whether I’m building fundraising campaign or creating content, I work to inspire people to see their faith in action and their ministries thrive.
When I’m not leading initiatives, I’m blogging, podcasting, or working on my next book, helping others connect with their communities and their purpose.

Reflections
Essential Pillars of Servant Leadership
Servant Leadership as a Guiding Principle: Robert Greenleaf's concept of the servant-leader deeply influences my leadership ethos, which prioritizes service to others over traditional hierarchical leadership. I strive to embody this principle by empowering my colleagues and those we serve, recognizing their diverse needs and circumstances as opportunities to foster growth and positive change within our organization's culture, identity, and mission.
Moral Beacons
It is in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. 1 Corinthians 2:7
My 90-year old grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Chapman Forster, was and is a tremendous moral beacon in my life. A blue-blood descendant from multiple Mayflower families, “Boo” as she has been known from childhood is a model of old New England rectitude, now found largely in novels. For all that, she was and is fun. An athlete, adventurer, voracious reader, and inquisitive mind, she reflexively imprinted Christian virtue on her whole family.
Milestones and Mentors
My life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus – the work of telling others the good news about God’s wonderful kindness and love. Acts 20:24
I can honestly say that I have never had a road to Damascus experience that stands alone above all others in my subsequent spiritual development as a minister. I focus on continuing daily growth, renewing my relationship with God each morning, keeping my faith fresh, and looking for opportunities to share the good news.
Christ in the Moment
No longer I but Christ who lives within me… Galatians 2:20
Pundits have labeled it, clinicians have diagnosed it, and philosophers have decried it. Call it The Shock of the New, Sensory Overload, or the constancy of Change. It all adds up to the same thing: a pressing need to do far too much in far too little time.
Media: "This Week's Focus"
Disclaimer Statement for "This Week's Focus"
"This Week's Focus" was produced during the years I served as an ordained Episcopal Priest. In 2024, I formally resigned my orders and was confirmed into the Roman Catholic Church by His Eminence Cardinal Timothy Dolan in April 2024. While these reflections were written during my time in the Episcopal tradition, they remain an integral part of my spiritual journey, offering insights that continue to resonate across faith communities.
